From a Family Recipe
to an Alabama favorite
In the spring of 1999, Lamar and Sheila Quinn turned a simple love for peanuts and family into something truly special: Aunt Mae’s Peanuts.
The idea started with a trip to a peanut auction and a conversation about sharing the homemade roasted peanuts that had always been a family favorite. When they came across an old peanut roaster from a retired gentleman, they both knew it wasn’t just luck, it was God opening a door.
The name honors Lamar’s mother, Mae, a woman known for her warm table, her sweet tea, and her endless hospitality. “Aunt Mae” represents family, faith, and the joy of sharing what God has given.
From humble beginnings — small 4-ounce brown bags — to store shelves and festivals across Alabama, Aunt Mae’s Peanuts grew through faith, gratitude, and a love of community. Lamar and Sheila built something more than a business; they built a tradition rooted in hard work, family, and trust in God’s provision.
